NEW Security protocol for 2024:
This year in order to provide an added level of safety for all Fair attendees we will be working with multiple law enforcement agencies and security personnel. In addition we have added metal detectors at the gates. This is part of our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all our fairgoers. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to ensure the well-being of everyone attending the Lane County Fair.

Lane County Fair Clear Bag Policy
To provide a safe environment for our Fair attendees and to expedite entry into the Fair, the Lane County Fair has implemented a clear bag policy that limits the type and size of bag allowed to enter into the Fair. Exceptions to this policy will be made for all medically necessary items and diaper bags with proper inspection.
Attendees may bring ONE of the following approved clear bags into the Fair:

One clear, plastic bag that does not exceed the dimensions of 12''W x 12''H 6''D

One one-gallon clear plastic bag (Ziploc or something similar)

One personal item such as a small clutch, purse or wallet that does not exceed 4.5'' x 6.5''
Attendees are limited to one clear bag per person along with a small clutch or purse for privacy. Clear bags are available for purchase at the Fair business office for $5.00 (cash only).
Prohibited bags include but are not limited to: backpacks, large purses, large fanny packs, briefcases, non-clear cinched bags, oversized tote bags, colored plastic bags, luggage of any kind, binocular cases, camera bags, large mesh bags, computer bags or any bag larger than the permitted items listed.

Why is the Fair implementing a clear bag policy?This policy allows the Lane County Fair to take further measures to ensure the safety of all of our attendees at the Fair. Clear bags are quickly and easily searched and allow secuirty to see what is inside of each bag that comes through the gate.

How many bags can one person bring into the Fair?Attendees are limited to one approved clear bag per person along with a small clutch or purse for privacy.

Are diaper bags accepted?Diaper bags and non-medically necessary items for babies and young children are permitted. These are however, subject to search.

Are all purses prohibited?No. Small clutch purses, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" are permitted along with ONE of the approved clear bag options. Attendees are encouraged not to bring any bags, but the policy has been created to balance attendee needs with improved public safety and convenience.

Does this bag policy apply to credentialed individuals (ex: entertainemnt, media, staff)?"There will be an exception specifically for "credentialed" individuals who bring bags that do not meet the policy guidelines. However, their bags will still be searched prior to entry, and only bags that pass the inspection will be allowed into the venue.

Where can I buy a clear bag?Clear bags will be available for purchase in the Fair Business office prior to Fair. During Fair they can be purchased when buying your parking pass (cash only) or at the any of the Fair ticket booths on-site (cash and card sales).

What happens if an attendee does not bring a clear bag and refuses bag check?All attendees entering the Fair will be required to adhere to the clear bag policy. All prohibited bags will be turned away and attendees will be asked to transfer their personal items into an approved clear bag. If attendees refuse to transfer items into a clear bag and/or refuses a bag check, they will not be allowed to enter into the Fair.

Will I need to go through a metal detector when entering Lane County Fair?Yes, every gate will have metal detectors. Gates A, D & F have walk through metal detectors. All other gates have hand wands. This is part of our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all our fairgoers. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to ensure the well-being of everyone attending the Lane County Fair.
Our goal is to have attendees enjoy an improve sense of safety without spending an extended period of time at the gate.
