30 Oregon Authors to Appear at Lane County Fair

Of course the Lane County Fair has the county’s best quilts and chickens. But did you know that the fair also showcases the area’s best books?
Thirty local authors will be discussing and autographing their works at the fair in Eugene August 18-22. Now in its tenth year, the Oregon Authors Table has moved from the Atrium to the south end of the main exhibit hall.
Several of the authors have books that were just released this summer. Shirley Tallman's "Scandal on Rincon Hill" is her fourth murder mystery set in San Francisco in the 1880s.
Nina Kiriki Hoffman, known for her contemporary novels that involve both fantasy and science fiction, has a new book for middle-schoolers, "Threshholds".
Hank Alley's short stories have won many awards, but "Precincts of Light" is his first novel. It describes a family torn apart by homophobia during Oregon's Measure Nine campaign.

Because the table has room for only six authors at a time, check the schedule if you want to meet a specific author, or go to the Exhibits Demonstration Schedules page for a daily list of the Authors.
