Though many know him from his early years as the DJ in Kid Rock’s Twisted Brown Trucker Band, Uncle Kracker (whose real name is Matt Shafer) has had impressive success as a songwriter, racking up co-writing credits on Kid Rock’s blockbuster hits "Smile," “Bawitdaba,” “Cowboy,” “Forever,” “Only God Knows Why,” and 2008’s No. 1 “All Summer Long,” as well as his own Adult Top 40 No. 1 “Follow Me” (from his 2001 double-platinum debut Double Wide).

Uncle Kracker wound up contributing to Rock’s 1996 independent release Early Mornin’ Stoned Pimp and 1998’s multi-platinum Devil Without A Cause before busting out on his own with Double Wide in 2000. The album peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200, spawned the smash single “Follow Me” (undoubtedly paving the way for the chart success of acoustic troubadours Jason Mraz and John Mayer), and went on double-platinum success the following year. Uncle Kracker’s gold-selling second album, No Stranger To Shame, followed in 2002, spawning a hit cover version of Dobie Gray’s classic “Drift Away.” That track reached the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and set a record for most weeks at No. 1 on the AC chart, remaining there for 22 straight weeks.

In 2004, Uncle Kracker released Seventy Two and Sunny, which showcased his melodic songwriting and unique stylistic synthesis of pop, rock, country, soul, blues, and even doo-wop. Country superstar Kenny Chesney was featured on one of the album’s tracks, “Last Night Again,” so that same year, Uncle Kracker returned the favor by singing on Chesney’s “When The Sun Goes Down,” which topped Billboard’s “Hot Country Songs” chart for five consecutive weeks. It also marked the first time in more than 20 years that an artist without a previous country history, like Uncle Kracker, was featured on a No. 1 country single. Uncle Kracker hit the road with Chesney for an arena tour that found Chesney’s fans singing along with “Follow Me” and “Drift Away.”

Uncle Kracker’s newest album, Happy Hour, Produced by multiple Grammy-Award winner Rob Cavallo, is a breezy blend of country-flavored pop and rock and roll that showcases not only the Detroit native’s natural appeal as a likeable Everyman, but also his considerable gifts as a songwriter.

Draw The Line, the Endorsed Aerosmith Tribute Band

Performing FREE* Thursday, August 19 @ 7:00pm

The bands career, now spanning almost eighteen years, has taken them all over the world. Draw The Line has performed in all but two U.S. states. They have also been to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other U.S. territories. They have toured to other countries such as the UK, Canada, Hondorus, Columbia, Mexico and Japan just to name a few. Draw The Line performs over 100 shows a year.

Draw The Line is the only tribute band who has been featured on the Official Aerosmith Website as well as that of Aerosmith's Official Fan Club. During a January 1998 interview, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler singled out Draw The Line as the best of the Aerosmith tribute bands. The group's fanatical popularity was evident the evening of January 1, 1999, when it played at the former Mama Kins Music Hall in Boston in front of a sold out crowd of 800. Among other famous faces at that show was Steven Tyler's daughter, model Mia Tallarico. Steven Tyler quoted his daughter the next day as saying "Dad, have you seen this? From where I was standing, I couldn't believe how much they (Draw The Line) looked and sounded just like you!"
Draw The Line's lead singer, Neill Byrnes, won a Steven Tyler look-alike contest on one of Boston's biggest rock radio stations. Even MTV agrees to the easily mistaken identity of Steven Tyler. So MTV invited Neill to fly to New York so they could film his magical impersonation for a promotional video. Even more recently Byrnes has been approached by many TV shows for appearances & performances.  For more information, go to www.drawtheline.net.

If you love Aerosmith, this is the tribute show
you Don't Wanna Miss!

Lane County is about to get a visit from three heavenly ladies: Caroline Cutbirth, Jennifer Wayne, and Tayla Lynn–collectively known as Stealing Angels.  If any of their last names sound familiar…they should. These young women are descended from American icons, including country icon Loretta Lynn, film legend John Wayne and American folk hero Daniel Boone. But it will be their music—not their background—that promises to make their names as well known as those of their famous family members.

Stealing Angels found each other in the Music City when they were each approached by a reality show producer looking to create a new show called, “All in the Genes.” The premise of the show was to focus on the ups and downs of three women from famous families.

Tayla, Caroline and Jennifer immediately hit it off and soon became inseparable. Although the three eventually realized that travelling down the reality show road wasn’t for them, they continued to grow closer as friends, supporting each other throughout the difficulties of trying to forge solo careers. It was around Christmas 2008 when the idea that their music was stronger as a group finally sank in. Although their singing styles still differed – ranging from pop to country and most things in between – there was no denying that the music they created together meshed in a way that was unmistakably beautiful and unforgettable. Their unique combination of influences includes Lee Ann Womack, the Dixie Chicks, Patty Griffin, classic country, 80’s punk, and more.  Stealing Angels is currently working on their debut CD with award-winning producer Paul Worley (Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride); the record that’s set for release this year!

Joan Jett is an originator, an innovator, and a visionary. As the leader of the hard-rocking Blackhearts, she’s had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," "I Hate Myself For Loving You," and "Crimson and Clover." She sits at the head of her own independent label, Blackheart Records.

Joan Jett’s life has been dedicated to one goal and one goal only – rocking the hell out of every listener she can reach. “I remember times when I was at shows and the person onstage locked eyes with me,” she recently told Esquire magazine. “And in that moment, everything was right with the world. I think that's part of my job, to create these thousands of moments every night.”

Since the release of Sinner in 2006, Jett has continuously toured across the globe, including a summer as a headliner on the Vans Warped Tour and stints alongside such bands as Aerosmith. Her music has become a permanent force in mainstream culture. Faith Hill sings "I Hate Myself for Loving You" as the theme for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, and "Bad Reputation" is the theme for the hit show American Chopper.

Jett’s version of “Love is All Around,” the theme from the Mary Tyler Moore Show, became a popular anthem for women’s sports. Her songs have also been featured in countless films, including Shrek, Charlie's Angels, and Monster. Joan Jett has spent her lifetime breaking barriers and challenging expectations. She’s fought hard for all of her historic accomplishments, yet she remains humble and appreciative.

"I've had a blessed career,” she says. “I consider myself so lucky to have been able to do things my own way."
