Lane County Fair is proud to include a Youth Fair for ages 4th grade thru age 21, living in Lane County. All information including but not limited to department information, entry fees, camping and applicable documentation to accompany entry forms are available online as of April 1, 2011. All entry forms must be in our office by the close of business on May 2, 2011. For questions, please call Jeri Kaufman at (541)682-7338.
The Lane County Livestock Association will present a Youth Fair Auction during the Lane County Fair, which will take place on Saturday, August 20th. Each youth member may sell one market animal through the Lane County Livestock Association (LCLA) Auction. In addition to the LCLA Youth Auction, there will be a young adult auction open to young adults ages 18 to 21 living in Lane County. Each participant may sell one animal through the sale.
Important dates to remember:
Beef weigh-in: March 5, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Swine & Sheep weigh-in: April 23, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Note: Weigh-ins will be at the Lane County Fairgrounds.
THE YOUTH FAIR DEPARTMENT INFORMATION is now ONLINE. Go to "Department Information", review the instructions at the top of the page, and go to Department "T", where you will find the Department information details, entry form, Country of Origin Affidavit/Declaration Statement, Feed and Growth Record for Market Animal, and Market Beef Health Record with instructions. If you are just entering Showmanship classes, return the entry form and fee only. If you are entering the Market Classes, return the entry form and fee to the Lane Events Center Administrative Offices, and bring the other forms with you when you bring your animal on August 16th.

It's Fair time again and we are excited about all of the "new" things that are happening at the Fair this year. June 1, 2011 will be the date for you to visit our website and see all the "current" information. Please be sure to check your individual department information conditions of entry for anything new that you will need to know about the department you are entering. I think you will find it fun and exciting. So get ready to grab your knitting needles, break out your cookie sheets, put up that jam you've been wanting to do all year, snap that photo of your kids, make sure your animals are looking their best and more, and enter it in the Fair to receive lots of prizes and premiums, plus have lots of fun doing it.
